Robert Lewandowski has been nominated for the August La Liga player of the month award after his brilliant start to the season for La Liga giants Barcelona.

The Poland forward is joined in the 7-man shortlist alongside Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, Atletico Bilbao’s Nico Williams, and Samu Castillejo of Valencia.

According to Barca Universal, Lewandowski’s nomination comes after a series of top performances in La Liga over the past month for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Netherlands manager, Louis van Gaal has heaped praises on Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski following the Poland striker’s brilliant start to life in Spain.

The Dutch manager has hailed Lewandowski as the best forward in the world at the moment after the 33-year-old netted 11 goals in 8 games for Barcelona, Football Espana reports.

Lewandowski is expected to lead Poland’s attack when they take on the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League encounter on Tuesday, September 22.
