  • Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu says he will not hesitate to sign for Real Madrid despite his strong affiliation with FC Barcelona
  • The 28-year-old winger had two uneventful spells with Barcelona but struggled to secure a regular berth in starting lineup during his time with the Blaugrana
  • Despite failing to register a goal this term, Deulofeu has recorded five assists in seven games, helping Udinese to the top of the Serie A table before the international break

Gerard Deulofeu has disclosed he would happily sign for Real Madrid despite his strong ties to FC Barcelona.

Deulofeu, a product of Barcelona's famous academy La Masia, had two separate spells with the Catalan giants but failed to establish himself as a first-team player before being shipped out of the club.

Currently playing for Serie A side Udinese, Deulofeu did not rule out a possible return to Spain but stressed a return to Barcelona is off his books.

He, however, shockingly admitted he would not hesitate to join Barcelona's bitterest rivals, Real Madrid should the opportunity be presented to him.

"Going back to Barcelona? No, I've already said that many times. And to Real Madrid? To arrive at Real Madrid how could I say no? It would be a great option for me."

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu has picked legendary Brazil forward Ronaldinho Gaucho as the greatest player of all time, ahead of Lionel Messi.

Deulofeu is a product of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy and played 23 games across two stints at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The 28-year-old played together with Messi when he made his first appearance for the senior side in 2011 before being loaned out to Everton two years later.
