“It bothers me because we signed him to play and he understands that. Let’s wait for the next week. Let’s see if there is luck in this,” he said.
Koundé could feature in Barcelona’s next game; a friendly against Manchester City on Wednesday, August 24. He is not registered to play their next La Liga game against Real Valladolid on Sunday, August 28.
Koundé joined Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer transfer window but has only been able to play in their pre-season friendlies thus far.
Barcelona needs to free up funds to register Koundé by selling some players or renegotiating contracts to lessen their wage bill.
Koundé does have a clause in his contract which allows him to leave the Catalan giants as a free agent if Barcelona cannot register him before the close of the transfer window, Barca Universal reported.
