  • Barcelona have offered Sergino Dest to a host of European clubs during the current transfer window
  • Sergino Dest is eager to fight for his place in the Barcelona team and does not want to leave Camp Nou
  • Barcelona have been criticised for their disregard towards players, as they force many to leave the club

Barcelona are finding it a lot more difficult to sell their players than it is to buy new players.

The Blaugrana have attempted to part ways with a few of their stars but have encountered resistance from the players themselves.

Frenkie de Jong’s drawn-out saga is a prime example of the current situation at the club, and now Barcelona are experiencing a similar situation with Sergino Dest.

The defender, who signed from Ajax in 2020, has already been offered to several clubs this transfer window, but refuses to leave, BarcaUniversal reported.

Xavi is happy to let the 21-year-old leave, but Dest has no desire to leave Camp Nou. Dest has been hampered by injuries since joining the Catalan side but is eager to stay and fight for his place.

With Barcelona attempting to sign Jules Koundé, the Blaugrana are looking to cut players like Dest to free up and lessen the wage bill. Marca have reported that Barcelona are alone in trying to sign Koundé after Chelsea pulled out of the running.

Dest has a slim chance of securing a spot in the team next season, though, after Dani Alves recently departed and Barca have yet to secure Cesar Azpilicueta’s signature.

With no major right-back available at the club at present, Dest has a chance to make the position his own this season.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has urged Dutch midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, to take legal against Barcelona following the Spanish giant’s refusal to pay him his owed salaries.

The 25-year-old midfielder is opposed to leaving Barcelona despite the club agreeing on a fee of £70m deal for his transfer to Old Transfer as he wants the £17m the Catalan giants owe him.

According to the Daily Mail, Neville criticized Barcelona on social media for not paying their current players with the inflow of cash.
