Barcelona boss Xavi has described Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a “gift that dropped from the sky” after the Gabon International scored again in the 4-0 rout against Osasuna on Sunday.
Aubameyang was on target with his side’s third goal in the first half after Ferran Torres scored twice for his side earlier on.
Riqui Puig then came off the bench to also get his name on the scoresheet as Barcelona cut the gap on second-placed Sevilla to 5 points with a game in hand.
Aubameyang’s goal was his fifth in six La Liga games. The former Arsenal man is proving to be an extremely important player for Barcelona, since signing for free in January.
Notably, his addition to the team has brought in the much-needed firepower that Barca desperately needed during the Ronald Koeman era.
Thanks to his services alongside the likes of Ferran Torres and Adama Traore, Barcelona have been merciless in front of goal, scoring four goals in four of their last nine games.
In a news conference, Xavi could not help but gush over the performances of Aubameyang.
"Aubameyang is a present that has fallen out of the sky," Xavi said as quoted by ESPN.
"It's not just [the goals], it's how he trains and his professionalism. He's an example, [all the players] are."
The Barcelona boss also spoke on Ferran Torres, who seems to have settled down seamlessly since his m €55 million move from Manchester City.
"I said that the goals would come for Ferran," Xavi added. "He's scored goals wherever he's been: Valencia, City and with the Spanish national team. It was just a matter of time. I'm delighted with how he's doing."

FootballHow Xavi turned Barca’s fortunes around
When Xavi took charge of Barcelona, they were ninth on the log and struggling for goals.
But since taking charge and instilling his methods, Xavi has seen Barcelona go on a frightening run, unbeaten in 12 league games and breathing down Sevilla’s neck.
They, however, still find themselves 12 points behind league leader and arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Barca’s next game in the La Liga is the el Classico, but before then, they have to get past Galatasaray in the Europa League last 16.
Barca are eyeing 2 Chelsea superstars
As far as transfer news is concerned, Barcelona are reportedly interested in the signing of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
According to the reports on UK Sun and Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona would look towards bolstering their squad with the signings of the pair, who have fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea.
Chelsea could be forced to sell some of their stars, after club owner Roman Abramovic had sanctions imposed on him.
