The fallout over Hugo Broos’ comments continues.
The Bafana coach stunned South Africans yesterday when he admitted that the quality of players in the country are not up to scratch.
Broos made the comments during a press conference, in which he was supposed to provide a report back on the game against Morocco, Sowetan LIVE reported.
He mentioned that South Africans had to face the real problem, which was that the country didn’t have high-quality players like their last opponents, Morocco, France and Ghana. Broos added that the only reason Bafana were in the 2010 World Cup is that they were given the gift of hosting it.
The comments didn’t sit well with some football players and fans alike, but others have agreed with Belgian’s sentiments.
South African Football Association President, Danny Jordaan, has said that he would talk to the coach about the statements he made. Jordaan added that he was not at the press conference himself, so he could not comment on the statements, but that it was important that the matter was dealt with organisationally.

Bafana suffered defeat to Morocco in last night’s AFCON qualifiers, but coach Hugo Broos isn’t disappointed in what he saw.
The Belgian coach was speaking after yesterday’s game in which Morocco came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory. Youssef En-Nesyri scored early in the second half to cancel out Lyle Foster’s opener before Ayoub El Kaabi broke Bafana hearts with a goal in the 87th minute.
Following the game, Broos added that he was not displeased by what he saw from his team against a star-studded Moroccan side.
