- Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad shared the spoils when the two sides met in an exciting La Liga fixture
- Umar Sadiq scored his first goal for Real Sociedad since signing for the club from Almeria in the transfer window
It took Alvaro Morata just five minutes to break the deadlock in Atletico Madrid’s game against Real Sociedad.
Morata struck from a corner, pouncing on the ball after hitting the post and then landing in his path.
Sociedad then had better chances to not only equalise but also to take the lead. Mohamed-Ali Cho, also known as Momo Cho, terrorised the Atleti left flank and created great chances for his teammates. He first teed up David Silva, who saw his shot saved by Jan Oblak. Cho then set up Mikel Merino, but his shot hit the post and deflected away. Cho had a shot as well, but it proved to be too tame to threaten,
Atleti then thought they were 2-0 up when Morata scored his second. The goal was chalked off, though, as João Félix was adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up.

Sociedad then brought on their new signing, Umar Sadiq, for the second half, and the Nigerian striker wasted little time in making an impact. Ten minutes after coming on, Saqiq latched onto a Cho cross to head home from close range.
Atleti players complained that Sadiq headed the ball onto his hand before it found the back of the net, but nothing was given and the goal stood.
Sadiq then had his second goal also chalked off due to offside, The Nigerian striker dinked the ball over the keeper smartly after he received a beautiful through ball from Takefusa Kubo.

FootballFélix had chances to grab a second goal for Atleti but saw one shot deflected wide and then another saved.
Diego Simeone’s side then had to play the last seven minutes plus extra time without their number one choice goalkeeper as Oblak had to leave the field through injury.
Replays showed that the keeper suffered a nasty knock from his own player while attempting to stop Sadiq.
Félix almost scored a winner in the game's dying minutes, but Álex Remiro in the Sociedad goal made a brilliant save. Martín Zubimendi then made a great block from the resulting shot, and both sides were forced to share the spoils.
