Asamoah Gyan has reaffirmed his desire to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko before calling it a quit on his illustrious career.
Ghana's all-time leading scorer has been inactive since leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities at the end of last season.
In an interview with Joy FM, the 36-year-old revealed he would love to play for the Porcupine Warriors before saying goodbye to the game.
“I would like to play for Asante Kotoko if I have to return [to playing football again]. I am a huge fan of the club,” he said.
Asamoah Gyan was close to joining Kotoko when he first returned to Ghana to play for a local side, but the deal fell through in the eleventh hour.
He opted to sign for Legon Cities but injuries and fitness problems affected his stint with the Royals.

Ghana's leading all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has made a comparison between Luka Modric's delicious assist in Real Madrid's quarterfinal encounter against Chelsea to Kwadwo Asamoah's similar effort in 2014.
Asamoah Gyan drew the comparison between the two following Modric's masterclass which has left the football world drooling over his technique.
Modric used the outside of his right boot to hit an almost 30-yard pass onto the feet of Rodrygo, who guided the ball into the net. His jaw-dropping pass caught the Chelsea defence ball watching.
