Eulogizing the efforts of the former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) head coach, Bortey congratulated Ogum for a wonderful work done.

“I have followed the league and I think Asante Kotoko is doing well because they had a good preparation. Prosper Narteh has proven he is a great coach. He has gotten the materials at Kotoko and has been able to make good use of it, so I will congratulate him,” Bortey who won four league titles with the Phobians told Koforidua-based Bryt FM as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
“I don’t even remember the last time a club accumulated such points in the first round. It happened during our time with Hearts of oak, so let’s see if Ogum and Kotoko can break it.” He added.

The 43-year-old tactician who was appointed in September 2021 has chalked 11 wins, four draws and losing just twice in 17 games in the first round of the Ghana Premier League.

His side also ranks second for the most goals scored in the Ghanaian top-flight with 26 goals in 17 games, averaging 1.5 goals per game.

Ogum has not only built a fearsome attack but also a water-tight defence considering ten goals in the first round - joint second-best in the league.

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum was full of praise of hat-trick hero Frank Mbella Etouga, whose three goals buried Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors overcame the resilience of Accra Lions to clinch a 3-1 victory at the Baba Yara stadium.

Etuoga boosted his overall goal tally to eleven for the season so far with two strikes in the first half and a third in the second, showing the kind of lethal finishing that the Kumasi-based club sorely lacked last year.
