- The England international has been a target of rough tackles from opponents due to his skills
- Head coach Mikel Arteta has continuously called for protection for the 21-year-old
Mikel Arteta is leading Arsenal's title chase and hopes to win their first title since the legendary Invincibles of 2003/04.
Bukayo Saka is one of the most important to that title charge. The England international has scored 10 goals and provided nine more assists in 27 league games.
He is one of the most fouled players in the division, having been a target of rough tackles due to his pace and trickery, which he uses to leave opponents for dead on his favoured right wing.
Arsenal held meeting with referees
As reported by Goal, Arteta called on referees to protect his star player, with the player hobbling off with bad tackles in almost every game, having been fouled 45 times this season.

The English player of Nigerian descent has now revealed in an interview with Evening Standard a step taken by the club to ensure the league's officials protect him.
''I can't come out here and start complaining that I'm getting fouled. It doesn't make sense. I'm not going to get anywhere with it,'' he said.
''Arsenal have had the meetings they need to have with the referees and stuff like that. I feel like we just need to take it from there and see where that gets us. The way I play, I'm always going to attract contact.''
According to Metro UK, opposition players average one yellow card for every 11.25 fouls they commit on Saka. In contrast, fouls committed on Jack Grealish, the second-most fouled player in the league behind Wilfried Zaha result in a yellow card every 4.9 times.
