Match week nine of the Premier League was marked with some interesting results across different venues in the UK.

Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, and Man United were among the biggest gainers after another round of fixtures.

The Gunners are still topping the standings with 24 points, with the side reclaiming the spot after their 3-2 thrilling win over Liverpool on Sunday, October 9, at the Emirates Stadium.

City's win temporarily fired them to the top of the standings, only for Arsenal to relegate them to second later on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur are placed third with 20 points, thanks to their 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Chelsea's 3-0 win over Wolves saw them climb to fourth on the log with 16 points, a point ahead of fifth-placed Man United, who sunk Everton 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Liverpool's struggles continue at the Emirates Stadium

Elsewhere, Liverpool are yet to get their campaign back on track - with their defeat at Arsenal denting their hopes of closing the gap on the likes of Chelsea, United, and Spurs.

Jurgen Klopp's men are placed 10th in the standings with just 10 points from eight matches.

They are trailing leaders Arsenal by 14 points and are six points off a top-four spot.

Meanwhile, Wolves, Leicester City, and Nottingham Forest are the three sides occupying the relegation zone.

While Leicester managed to redeem themselves against Nottingham last Monday, they suffered a setback on Saturday after they lost to Bournemouth.

Wenger explains why Arsenal are title contenders

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that ex-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has maintained that the Gunners have what it takes to win the Premier League this season.

According to Wenger, the lack of a dominating team this term could give Arsenal the much-needed edge to lift the title.

The north Londoners are topping the standings with 24 points ahead of second-placed Man City.
