- Thomas Partey will be assessed by Arsenal's medical team on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury
Arsenal have been dealt with a huge blow in their quest for Champions League spot after Thomas Partey suffered an injury in their game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
The Gunners were hammered 3-0 by Patrick Vieira's side who are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions.
Two first half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew put the home side in control before Wilfried Zaha's second half penalty ensured a well-deserved victory for the Eagles.
In the build-up to Crystal Palace's penalty, Thomas Partey appeared to have pulled up a hamstring injury and was immediately substituted for Albert Sambi Lokonga by Mikel Arteta.
“I don’t know but he felt something in the same area that he [Partey] got injured previously so that’s a big concern,” Arteta said, as reported by Football London.
The Black Stars deputy captain will be assessed by Arsenal's medical team to determine the extent of the injury.
How Partey fared against Crystal Palace
Partey was given a starting berth alongside Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka in a midfield pivot against Crystal Palace.
Per SofaScore, Partey was not at his best as he gave away possession 14 times which caused his team some problems in the match.
He received a match rating of 61.2 out of 10, the third-worst total among his teammates. He also had 57 touches and only 30% duel was won by him.
The 28-year-old was substituted in the 76th minute after picking up an injury and that could be a major blow to the Gunners who are chasing a champions league slot.
