Siyethemba Sithebe will not be selected for Amazulu as long as he remains an Usuthu player.
Coach Benni McCarthy confirmed that Sithebe would be ‘unavailable’ for selection.
Sithebe has yet to feature for Amazulu during the two games that the club has played this year and he hasn’t even been on the bench.
McCarthy explained that he could not select a player if the player wasn’t available for selection, iDiski Times confirmed.
“Sithebe wasn’t available and obviously it’s a discussion the club had with myself and the technical team on the situation – so it’s out of my control.
“I can only select who I have at my disposal and unfortunately I don’t have him at my disposal, so I can’t put a player that I can’t select,” he told the site.
Sithebe’s contract situation with Amazulu made headlines in January as Kaizer Chiefs actively pursued the player, The South African confirmed.
While Chiefs could not agree on a deal for the player’s services, they did manage to secure his services once his contract expires at the end of the season.
But owner, Sandile Zungu, was unhappy with the way the Amakhosi approached the player and promised that he would not wear the Amazulu jersey while he was at the club.
Benni McCarthy at first went against this decision, saying that Sithebe would get a game at Usuthu if he performed well in training.
Now he’s confirmed that the situation is out of his control and that he isn’t allowed to select the wantaway midfielder.

FootballKaizer Chiefs face another transfer ban, Amazulu pursues legal action against Amakhosi over Siyethemba Sithebe
Kaizer Chiefs already have one legal case pending with the Premier Soccer League, and they soon could be in the middle of another legal battle with Amazulu and FIFA, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Kaizer Chiefs spent most of the January transfer window attempting to sign wantaway Amazulu midfielder, Siyethemba Sithebe, to the club. Sithebe has agreed to join the Amakhosi at the end of the season when his contract with the Usuthu ends.
Amazulu owner, Sandile Zungu, was unhappy with the way Chiefs approached the player and The Citizen now reports that Amazulu is taking the matter further by gathering evidence to prove that Chiefs approached the player before they were legally allowed to do so.
