Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has made a stunning revelation about his decision to invite Mohammed Kudus to the Black Stars.
Appiah gave the then FC Nordsjaelland player his Black Stars debut in a game against South Africa in Cape Coast.
Before the game, Appiah received threats his Black Stars career will be over if he fields the 19-year-old.
Kudus, a second half substitute, went on to score the goal that sealed victory for Ghana against the Bafana Bafana.

“Not only [Mohammed] Kudus but some other young players. There were people who felt the young players didn’t deserve the Black Stars call-up,” he told Dan Kweku Yeboah TV as quoted by myjoyonline.
“But for me, I had watched them and I believed them. I always told my players don’t prove to me, prove to Ghanaians. If you do well that’s for your own good.
“My job was on the line because I was warned that if I lost the match I will be sacked. I didn’t mind because I knew I was doing what was good for the country.”
A year later Kudus earned a move to Ajax and has since been a key figure at the senior national team.
