AFCON-bound Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey has left Arsenal fans wanting more after a man of the match performance against Manchester City on New Year's day.
The 28-year-old was in outstanding form for the Gunners despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City following a last minute goal from Rodri.
Partey was eventually named the player of the match because of his performance and will now be heading to Qatar to join his Black Stars teammates for the Africa Cup of Nations.
A monstrous first half display by the Ghanaian, helped the Gunners to a 31st minute lead through Bukayo Saka.
However, Riyad Mahrez- another AFCON-bound player- leveled for Manchester City from the spot in the 57th minute.
And when it looked like the game was headed for a draw, Rodri grabbed the winner out of nowhere as City extend their lead at the top of the table.
Arsenal fans react to Thomas Partey's display
Fans of Arsenal have raved over the performance of the Ghana international, with some disappointed he is leaving for the Nations Cup.
"Arsenal brilliant on the day and could have won but this is City with Pep as manager. Partey! What a game. Sad for Arsenal he’s leaving for Doha to join the Black Stars ahead of AFCON 2021," wrote Benedict Owusu.
"Partey absolutely bossing it out there so far," wrote Charles Watts.
"Thomas Partey’s best performances in an Arsenal shirt have been against both Manchester teams. We know how good he can be, simply needs to find the consistency now!," added Eavn Cooper.
