Gyan brothers win Army Officers Mess Tennis championship men's doubles

Ghanaian football legend, Asamoah Gyan has dropped his boots for the rackets and can't seem to stop winning after he and his brother, Baffuor Gyan, won the Army Officer's Mess Tennis Court championship.

The former Ghana captain and his brother won the men's double at the event after brushing aside all opponents on their way to the ultimate prize.

In a photo posted on Twitter, sighted by SportsBrief.com, the terrific duo are seen showing their trophies after the tourney.

Gyan posted the photo of he and his brother with the caption, "AMTEC men doubles champions."

The Army Officers Mess Court Tennis championship is an annual event where interested tennis players sign up to participate in a mini championship.

Asamoah Gyan has never hidden his love for tennis, and has continuously participated in friendly tournaments in Accra.

Earlier this month, Gyan reached the semi finals of the Accra Open, where he lost to Richard Odum in two straight sets.

Asamoah Gyan is yet to hang his boot following an illustrious career, which has seen him become Ghana's all time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 appearances.

He is also Africa's top scorer at the FIFA World Cup with six goals in three tournaments.

His brother Baffuor Gyan also played for the Black Stars between 2001 to 2008, making 25 appearances for the senior national team.

Asamoah Gyan to miss AFCON 2021

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, head coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Milovan Rajevac has left out some big names in his squad for next year's Africa Cup of Nations after releasing his provisional team.

The Serbian tactician announced a 30-man squad for pre-AFCON camping in Qatar but left out number one goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

In the list presented to the media, top players like Caleb Ekuban, Emmanuel Gyasi, Afriyie Acquah, Joseph Aidoo and Ishmael Ganiyu were all not included.
