Ralani might have to wait until at least February to make his debut for the club when its heavy schedule resumes on the African continent.

Reaction to the news of the 34-year-old Ralani joining the runaway log leaders was met with general positivity, even if there were doubters of its necessity and motive. Sundowns boasts a large, quality-filled roster as one of the richest clubs on the continent.

Musician Theo Kgosinkwe (@theo_kgosinkwe) replied on Instagram:

"Welcome Ralani! Welcome to the yellow nation. I trust and believe that the coaches have a bigger plan and they know what they are doing. I only ask if we could get a striker to assist Shalulile because Safranko does not do it for me, I’m sorry."

@baloyijoshua2 wondered:

"We should have signed him long time ago, now he is 34. Kekana was not given a chance to play at 34... I thought it was because of his age..."

Xhulu Serurubele said:

"Good move by the Brazilians. While other teams sign quantity Sundowns sign quality! Soccer prophets already predicted the end of his career like they did to Shalulile, Maema, De Reuck and Grant Kekana."

Thanyani Makherama said:

"Sundown is building a very strong team no team will want to play with them."

Snethemba Sondiya was conspiratorial:

"Sundowns is a business, weakening other teams to remain the strongest team. I've said it before. Some said it's wasting money but I knew they were strengthening their squad by weakening others..."
