Super Eagles To Face Tough African Opponents in Friendly Battle As Test Before AFCON 2021

Nigerian Football Federation chiefs are now planning a friendly game game for the Super Eagles against Cameroonian Club Cotonsport ahead of their campaign at the 2021 AFCON.

Players invited for the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Egypt will start arriving Abuja camp from Wednesday, December 29, and they will train for some days before traveling to Cameroon.

Gernot Rohr who qualified the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the 2021 African Cup of Nations was recently sacked by the NFF who claimed that the German lost control of the dressing room.

And who did the NFF chiefs hire as replacement for Gernot Rohr?

Augustine Eguavoen was named as new Super Eagles coach on interim capacity and he could get the job permanently if Nigeria should win the AFCON next year in Cameroon.

The former Under 23 coach recently released names of players who will represent Nigeria at AFCON and has promised not to disappoint in the tournament.

According to the latest report on Complete Sports and Score Nigeria, the NFF have approached those in charge of Cotonsport with friendly match proposal.

When will Super Eagles play first game at AFCON?

Nigeria will be facing Egypt in their first match at the African Cup of Nations on January 11 which is expected to be a tough battle.

The Nigerian striker has been superb so far this season in the Premier League which also helped him to be called for the 2021 African Cup of Nations by Super Eagles coaching crew.

Dennis and his teammates playing at home wanted to impress their fans against West Ham United and they indeed scored the first goal through the Nigerian in the 4th minute.
