Assistant coach of Ghana and Borussia Dortmund, Otto Addo enjoyed the Christmas festivities is the best possible way after striker Erling Haaland surprised him with a pair of expensive Jordan Sneakers.

Haaland, who arrived in Dortmund in January 2020, has seen a smooth transition at the Bundesliga giants, thanks to Otto Addo's role at the club.

In a photo spotted on Facebook, sighted by SportsBrief.com, the striker is seen handing the gift to Otto Addo.

Otto Addo was developmental coach when Haaland arrived at the club, and coached him as he took less time to settle in Germany.

Haaland is one of the most prolific strikers in football these days, and scores a goal in every 63 minutes in the Bundesliga.

In appreciation of the Ghanaian's impact on his career, the 21-year-old celebrated his coach by handing him the sneakers.

This season, Haaland has scored 13 goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo will not be available for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations because of the return of the Bundesliga in January.

Otto Addo, born in Germany, played for the Black Stars of Ghana between 1996 to 2006, scoring two goals in 15 appearances.

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars have been dealt with a huge blow after it was announced former player and assistant coach Otto Addo will not be available for AFCON 2021.

The Borussia Dortmund assistant manager has chosen to continue his work with the Bundesliga outfit during the Nations Cup.

During Tuesday's naming of the provisional squad, Milovan Rajevac confirmed the absence of the German-based trainer.
