Big Super Eagles Star Speaks on Reports of Him Being Injured Ahead of AFCON 2021

Shehu Abdullahi has rubbished reports that he may not travel with the Super Eagles of Nigeria to Cameroon for the 2021 African Cup of Nations due to injury while playing for Omonia.

On boxing day, the former Kano Pillars' star was replaced against APOEL after sustaining injury in an encounter that his side suffered a 4-2 defeat in Cypriot First Division.

And there have been discussions among fans and reporters that the midfielder may not be part of the traveling squad to Cameroon for the January AFCON.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Shehu Abdullahi has cleared the air on the speculation claiming that the injury he suffered was not a serious one.

Shehu Abdullahi's reaction on injury reports

“It was not a serious injury, I just had a knock on my left thigh but I am fine. The substitution was just precautionary
“I will be in Nigeria tomorrow (Tuesday) and get set for the camp proper. It’s always a good feeling to be called up by your nation.
“I am always honoured to play and represent Nigeria and I can’t wait to see the guys again.”

Super Eagles star sends stunning message to Nigerians after making final AFCON list

Earlier, Sports Brief reported how Umar Sadiq who plays for Spanish side Almeria explained that he is ready to fight for his nation, Nigeria, at the coming African Cup of Nations in Cameroon after making the Super Eagles list.

Recently, the Nigerian Football Federation released the names of the 28 players that will represent the country in Cameroon in which Umar Sadiq is among.

In the ongoing sesson in Spain, Umar Sadiq has been impressive for Almeria and the Nigerian has scored 9 goals in 19 games played so far.

The 24-year-old stated clearly that he is super happy to be invited into the Super Eagles after playing six games for the Under 23 side.
