The rout started after five minutes when Leicester City were caught napping as Fernandinho picked out Kevin De Bruyne will a long ball.

The Belgian produced a sharp turn before rifling the ball with his left foot in the top corner.

Soon after it was 2-0 as Riyad Mahrez scored from the spot in the 14th minute following Youri Tielemans' tackle on Aymeric Laporte.

Man City made it 3-0 in the 21st minute as Ilkay Gundogan pounced on a loose ball in the box to register his name on the score sheet.

Four minutes later, it was 4-0 after Youri Tielemans conceded another penalty for bringing down Raheem Sterling. The English forward stepped up and converted from the spot.

At the end of the first half, the scoreline read 4-0 first half.

Leicester City came out fighting in the second half and got their first goal through James Maddison in the 55th minute after a fine assist from Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Nigerian striker created the second goal in the 59th minute as he found Ademola Lookman with a perfect pass as his fellow countryman finished with finesse.

Iheanacho then got his name on the score sheet in the 65th minute as he reacted quickly to a loose ball in the box to slot home from close range after Ederson found it hard to keep out Maddison shot.

But Man City shrugged off any room for a fightback from Leicester as Laporte nodded home a cross from De Bruyne to make it 5-3, before Sterling scored his brace with three minutes left on the clock to make it 6-3.

The victory takes Man City to 47 points, six ahead of closest rival Liverpool, and nine points clear of third-place Chelsea.

Christian Pulisic names Salah as the best player in the Premier League

Earlier, Sportsbrief reported that Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has snubbed his own teammates to name Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah as the best player in the Premier League this season.

Pulisic, who is currently in his third year in the English topflight reckons Salah is easily in a class above the rest after a record-breaking run of form with the Reds.

The Egyptian has scored a mouthwatering 22 goals in just 24 matches this season to help Liverpool keep pace with league leaders, Man City, and cruise into the Champions League knockout stages.

And when asked to name the best player in the EPL this season, Pulisic admitted teammates Jorginho and N'Golo Kante have been incredible - but none beats Salah.
