Mulee is understood to have linked up with the outfit as technical director.

Police FC confirmed the appointment via their Facebook on Sunday, October 31.

"Addition of another football genius in the Police bench," the club posted on Facebook.
"Coach Ghost Mulee, the former Harambee Stars Head coach joins John Bobby Ogolla as a Technical Director to steer Kenya Police FC forward," the club added.

While it remains unclear what his roles will be in his new job, he is expected to play an integral role in helping the club maintain their top-flight status.

Police FC were promoted to the KPL for the first time ever in September after beating Vihiga United in the National Super League play-offs.

The team is currently placed 14th on the log with just three points after four rounds of matches.

Mulee quits Harambee Stars

Meanwhile, Mulee's appointment to Police FC comes only weeks after he left his role at Harambee Stars as head coach.

According to the Football Kenya Federation, Mulee exited on mutual consent with the governing body, with the tactician leaving alongside his assistant Twahir Muhidin and goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande.

TUKO.co.ke reported his departure was in the wake of Kenya's poor outing in the World Cup qualifiers that saw the team collect just two points from two matches under his tutelage.

The experienced tactician was appointed to the role in October 2020, succeeding Francis Kimanzi who had been sacked at the time.

How Kenyans reacted to Mulee's appointment

A number of Kenyans have since taken to social media to share their thoughts on Mulee's appointment as Police FC's technical director.

Many sent him messages of goodwill, with some exuding confidence he will help the club in their pursuit to scale the heights of the KPL.

One said:

"Ghost's experience will help the team a lot, we will be back to winning ways."

A second noted:

Title contenders I can confirm, Mulee is a good addition.

While a third added:

"Congratulations we are heading in the right direction by bringing on board such a great mind as Ghost. Forward ever."
