Ahmed Musa's proposed transfer to Premier League giants West Brom has reportedly been cancelled by the club's chiefs after training with them for almost one week.

The Super Eagles captain was said to have travelled to the United Kingdom last week where he was accessed by West Brom's coaching crew who are looking for an agile striker.

Since leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr last year October, Ahmed Musa has been looking for ways to return to the Premier League after his unsuccessful stint at Leicester City.

At Leicester City, Ahmed Musa managed to play 33 games for the Foxes which included six Champions League appearances before he left the side scoring five goals.

Being the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa needs active playing time for him to maintain his position at the Nigerian national team.

Nigeria will also be having AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho which take place at the end of March this year.

According to the report on Birmingham live, Ahmed Musa was declared fit enough, but the side's chiefs have ended their interest and decided against sanctioning an offer for the Super Eagles star.

Meanwhile, West Brom are currently occupying 19th position on the Premier League table with 12 points after 23 games played so far.
