AS Roma's 18-year-old forward, Felix Afena-Gyan returned from suspension to play for the Romans as they were held at home by Sampdoria.

The teenager missed the big win on Saturday against Atalanta after he was bizarrely sent off in the game against Spezia.

However, he was a second half substitute on Wednesday night, replacing Tammy Abraham in the 46th minute as Roma drew 1-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.

After a goalless first half, manager Jose Mourinho brought the Ghanaian youngster in as Roma chased an opener.

With 18 minutes remaining Eldor Shomurodov broke the deadlock after some scrappy defending by the visitors.

But AS Roma were punished with ten minutes left when Manolo Gabiadini pounced to score for Sampdoria.

Afena-Gyan was making his fourth appearance in the topflight after he was promoted to the senior team by Mourinho.

Afena-Gyan receives first career red card

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Ghanaian teen sensation, Felix Afena-Gyan received the first red card of his career after he was sent off in the 93rd minute of AS Roma's victory over Spezia in the serie A.

The youngster, who came on in the 64th minute was bizarrely shown his marching orders in injury time after he was celebrating a goal which was ruled out because he controlled the ball with his hand.

In photos posted on Twitter, sighted by SportsBrief, the 18-year-old is seen disappointed as he leaves the pitch following the red card.

Milovan Rajevac expects Afena-Gyan to report for pre-AFCON camping

Head coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac has said he expects 18-year-old Felix Afena-Gyan to join Ghana's pre-AFCON camp in Qatar.

The AS Roma teen sensation was named in Rajevac's 30-man team for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

During the announcement of the provisional list, the Serbian trainer stated the reason for selecting the young forward.
