Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, has dismissed any chance of his team acquiring Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood during the current summer transfer window.
The Rome-based Serie A side was among those pursuing Greenwood last season, but the English forward chose to move to Madrid and secured a season-long loan deal with Getafe.
This move proved highly successful for the 22-year-old, who made a significant impact at the La Liga club and ended the 2023-24 season as Getafe's Player of the Season.
Upon the completion of his loan, Greenwood returned to Carrington on Monday, July 8, though he has yet to join Man United's pre-season training.

The Athletic adds that the Wibsey-born forward visited the training centre to continue negotiations concerning his departure from Old Trafford.
In a meeting with the club's football leadership team, he had a constructive discussion about continuing his career elsewhere. A permanent transfer now seems imminent.
According to reports corroborated by GOAL, Mason is interested in a permanent move from French side Marseille and Lazio after Getafe pulled out from the race very early on due to the Red Devils' asking price.
Lazio president Lotito rules out signing Greenwood
However, in a surprising turn of events, Lazio has opted not to sign Greenwood, with President Lotito suggesting that the club has identified a different target, whom he considers to be ten times better than the Englishman.
Liverpool transfer news: How much did Liverpool spend this transfer window?
Football“The deal to sign Mason Greenwood was close last year, but then it collapsed at the final stages,” Lotito disclosed, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
He added, “Now I’ve [have] one more name on the list, I can’t share the name but he’s 10 times better than Greenwood”.
Why Greenwood's Marseille move faces challenges?
In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Mason Greenwood's potential transfer to Marseille faces challenges as a significant portion of the club's fans oppose the move.
While new Marseille manager Roberto de Zerbi is interested in the forward, Manchester United's £40 million valuation presents a significant hurdle.
Additionally, concerns over Greenwood's controversial past have further complicated the potential deal.
