Why Yamal wears two flags on his boots

Yamal has started all four games for Spain so far in the tournament, helping his country reach the last eight, where they will face hosts, Germany, later this evening.

Fans have noticed that the Barcelona youngster wears the flag of two countries on his Adidas F50 boots, despite pledging his international allegiance to the European country.

According to SportBible, the flags are those of Equatorial Guinea and Morocco, the two African countries he was eligible to play for before opting to play for Spain.

His mother is from Equatorial Guinea, while his father, Mounir Nasraoui, was born in Morocco. They gave birth to Yamal in a municipality in Barcelona in 2007.

According to UEFA.com, he is the youngest player at the Euros and made history as the youngest ever to record an assist with his cross for Dani Carvajal in the 3-0 win over Croatia.

Yamal has no regrets about choosing Spain

Sports Brief also previously reported on Yamal admitting he has no regrets about choosing Spain after making his debut in the 7-1 win over Georgia in September.

He is well aware that the journey with Spain is a long one, and making his debut as a teenager means he could be with the team for many years if he remains at the top.
