Metro UK reports that Croatia, Hungary, Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Scotland, and Albania have all been eliminated following a dismal run of results in the group stages.

In Group A, hosts Germany and Switzerland advanced to the next round, with Spain and Italy joining them from Group B.

England topped Group C to progress to the last 16 despite an underwhelming run and were joined by Denmark and Slovenia.

Austria, France, and the Netherlands qualified from Group D, with Romania, Belgium, and Slovakia all qualifying from an incredibly tight Group E.

Meanwhile, holders Italy, Portugal, and Belgium are the other teams in the knockouts.

Which country could win the Euro 2024?

With fans unable to decide which country stands the best chance to win Euro 2024, a supercomputer has predicted how things could pan out.

Despite England struggling so far in the tournament, Opta's Supercomputer has backed them as the favourites to lift the crown.

The Three Lions have been given a 20% chance of conquering Europe, with Spain the second favourites with a 17.2% chance.

Germany are third favourites to win the trophy on home soil, with a 15.8% chance. The knockout round of the competition is set to kick off on Saturday, June 29, with the hosts taking on Denmark.

England will be in action on Sunday, June 30, and are scheduled to face with Slovakia, before Spain, the only team to win all their group-stage fixtures, battle Georgia in the other last 16 fixture.

Ronaldo makes history

Sports Brief also previously reported on Al-Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo inking his name in Euro history yet again.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is part of Portugal's squad taking part in the ongoing tournament in Germany.
