Conor Gallagher is believed to have made his last appearance for England at the ongoing European Championship after calls for the midfielder to be dropped from Gareth Southgate’s squad.

The Three Lions have been bashed by supporters despite sealing a spot in the Euro 2024 Round of 16 as group winners, due to their poor performances in their three group-stage games.

Chelsea star, Conor Gallagher, was substituted at half-time in England's last Euro 2024 group game against Slovenia on June 25, 2024.

According to the Metro UK, ex-Germany player, Didi Hamann believes Gallagher will play no part again in England’s Euro 2024 campaign due to how poor the midfielder has been in the competition.

"He’s an easy target. Gallagher comes off at half-time. We probably don’t see Gallagher again for the rest of the tournament," he remarked.

Gallagher featured for England against Serbia and Denmark, before his half-time substitution against Slovenia.

Shearer wants changes in England's team

Meanwhile, former England striker, Alan Shearer has called on Southgate to ring changes ahead of the Round of 16 to improve the Three Lions' performance, Football 365 reports.

The Newcastle legend advocated for the manager to feature the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer more in England’s games as they added more quality in the few minutes they played versus Slovenia.

The Three Lions will take on Slovakia in the Round of 16 on Sunday, June 30, as last year's Euro runners-up continue their push to win their first major competition title since 1966.

England urged to sack Southgate

Sports Brief also previously reported on England reaching Euro 2024's last 16 as group winners but fans are still calling for Southgate's sacking.

The Three Lions failed to impress in their first three games, winning narrowly against Serbia before recording draws against Denmark and Slovenia.

Popular TV presenter, Richard Keys, has urged the FA to sack Southgate immediately and employ former Premier League boss, Harry Redknapp.
