It was gathered that Spain's U21 manager named a strong side for the summer games, including two members of the ongoing Euro 2024 with the senior side.

Villarreal’s Alejandro Baena and Barcelona's Fermin Lopez are billed to join the team in France as soon as their continental assignment is done.

Spain's team for this year's Olympic Games is dominated by players from La Liga outfits Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The Catalan club's squad includes Pau Cubarsi, Lopez, and returning loanee Eric Garcia, while Atleti's squad includes goalkeeper Alejandro Iturbe, Pablo Barrios, and Omorodion.

Manchester City’s Sergio Gomez, Braga’s Abel Ruiz and Real Betis’ Juan Miranda are the three overaged players representing Spain at the Summer Games.

Punch reports that the trio are hardly much older than their peers at 24 but are part of the same generation that came together through the youth categories.

Chelsea target Samu Omorodion

The 20-year-old is one of the strikers the Blues are targeting this summer to bolster their squad depth ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The young striker spent last on loan at Deportivo Alaves and produced eye-catching performances, attracting interest from top clubs.
