The 27-year-old attempted to charm her Portuguese fans by mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo but got more than what she bargained for at a music festival in Lisbon.

In an attempt to win over the fans, the Cuban songstress took her hat off for Ronaldo, but things took an awkward direction soon after.

A video that went viral on social media on Tuesday, June 25, showed Cabello describing herself as a lucky charm as she joked that her presence in CR7's home nation was the key to Selecao’s brilliant run at Euro 2024.

She said: "I did hear you had a soccer game yesterday and heard you guys won so I'm just saying maybe I'm Portugal's lucky charm," she said, referring to Portugal’s 3-0 win over Turkey.

"A fan that I met yesterday told me to say something... Forza Cristiano Ronaldo."

Immediately after her sentiments, the crowd erupted with the famous ‘Siuuu’ chant, meant to emulate the roar of a crowd after a goal is scored.

Confused, Cabello told the fans not to jeer her, saying "Don't boo me because she told me that would win you guys."

It was an embarrassing gaffe from the I LUV IT hitmaker, who is a long-time admirer of Cristiano’s eternal rival, Lionel Messi.

Notably, she has been spotted at an Inter Miami game and even posted about her interaction with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner on her Instagram in 2023.
