Andile Jali will return to the Premier Soccer League next season.

The 34-year-old is one of the league’s most successful players and will look to lend his experience to a new side from 2024/25 onwards.

Andile Jali has played for numerous Premier Soccer League clubs and is now reportedly joining another.

As noted by Kick Off, Jali confirmed that he agreed on a deal with a new team, but could not reveal who that side is.

He last competed in the DStv Premiership in January.

With the veteran midfielder set to return to the big leagues, Sports Brief looks at who he’s previously played for and why he left.

3 PSL teams Jali played for

Orlando Pirates

Jali joined the Buccaneers in 2009 and made history at the side for the next five years.

As noted by iDiskiTimes, Jali was part of the team that won back-to-back trebles, which was the first in the country.

The defensive midfielder made 133 appearances for the Sea Robbers before signing with KV Oostende in Belgium.

Mamelodi Sundowns

While Jali didn’t impress in Europe, he picked up where he left off when he returned to South Africa at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Jali won two more trebles with the Brazilians, becoming the only South African to have done it four times, Sports Brief reported.

The midfielder won eight trophies at the side before the club parted ways with him over disciplinary issues.

SABC Sport noted that he showed up at the club’s training facilities under the influence of alcohol, prompting the club to take disciplinary action.

Moroka Swallows

After leaving Sundows, it wasn’t long before he found a new home.

The 34-year-old joined Steve Komphela at Moroka Swallows but didn’t last long at the side either.

Swallows sacked a huge number of their players after they went on strike over unpaid salaries.

Jali was also released by the Soweto-based side. He only made 13 appearances for the club before his departure.

Jali’s agent discusses Middle East move

Sports Brief previously reported on the possibility of Jali moving to the Middle East.

The midfielder was linked with a move to the area or China after he was released by Sundowns.

Jali was linked with a move locally, but his agent described a move overseas as a possibility also.
