Le Bleus took on the Polish in their final group game of Euro 2024, knowing that they were guaranteed a place in the last 16.

Looking for a win to try and secure the top spot, the French finally got onto the scoresheet courtesy of a Mbappe penalty.

Mbappe finally breaks European duck

The captain stepped up and delivered after Ousmane Dembele was fouled in the box.

Prior to the spot kick, Mbappe was denied time after time by the Polish keeper, but finally found the back of the net with the penalty.

It marked his first-ever goal at the tournament, which is astonishing when one considers that he has already scored 12 goals at the FIFA World Cup.

Mbappe’s track record at Euro

Prior to the game, the Real Madrid star had made five appearances in the tournament without registering a goal.

All Football App reported that in the 2021 edition of the tournament, he failed to fire in four games despite being part of a star-studded attacking line-up that also featured Kylian Mbappe.

In this year’s edition, he failed to find the back of the net against Austria before leaving the pitch with a broken nose.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star was then absent for the game against the Netherlands.

Mbappe appears to hurl insult at Lewandowski

Sports Brief reported how Kylian Mbappe was unhappy with Poland's Lewandowski during a Euro 2024 fixture.

The new Real Madrid star appeared to hurl insults at the Barcelona attacker after Lewa accidentally hit him in the face.

The French captain broke his nose against Austria and has been wearing a protective facial mask to protect him.
