Neymar Jr. is in the USA to support Brazil at the ongoing 2024 Copa America, and his gesture before the first match has fans talking on social media.

Brazil played a soulless 0-0 draw against the CONCACAF country Costa Rica, which left a sour taste in the mouths of their fans and top football personalities.

Neymar missed the tournament as he is recuperating from the ACL injury he suffered on international duty in November, which prematurely ended his first season with Al-Hilal.

Neymar buys jersey from street vendors

As seen in footage circulating on social media, the former Barcelona star was on his way to the SOFI Stadium, where the Samba Boys took on Costa Rica, when he stopped for a moment with street vendors.

He wanted to buy a Brazil jersey, and unknown to the fans, it was the superstar in front of them, and on realising, they rushed to his car with their phones out for selfies.

Another noticeable thing in the encounter was his speaking English, though not fluent, he displayed a basic understanding of the language before the conversation switched to Portuguese.

The moment appeared to be the last happy one he had before the match, as he was visibly agitated throughout the game due to Brazil’s poor display in their opening match.

He shared photos from the stadium on his Instagram page, one of which was with basketball star Jimmy Butler, who was seen holding up a Brazil flag.

Fans vindicate Ronaldinho for his comments about Brazil

Sports Brief reported on fans claiming Ronaldinho was right for his comments about the Brazil national team after their embarrassing display against Costa Rica.

The legend came under fire when he said he had no reason to watch his country at the Copa America because the current players and fans justified the statement.
