According to French outlet L’equipe, Mbappe filed the claim through the French League, citing Article 259 of the professional football charter.
The article states that “clubs must pay salaries to players by the last day of each month,” which PSG failed to do.
The two parties had a 'gentleman’s agreement' which saw Mbappe waive €55 million in due bonuses, but the agreement was never formalised on paper.
Earlier in 2024, the informal agreement ended after it became evident to PSG that Mbappe would not renew his contract at the club.
The Ligue 1 club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, instead wanted Real Madrid to pay Mbappe the dues, but Los Blancos were under no obligation to do so.

FootballAfter the end of his PSG tenure, Mbappe openly spoke about how the club treated him after learning of his intentions to leave.
The former Monaco man claimed he was initially frozen out of the squad in the 2023/2024 season, and this was evident when he sat out a 0-0 draw against Lorient.
Head coach, Luis Enrique, gradually reintegrated him back into the squad, and he ended up scoring 44 goals across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
Sports Brief also reported on some of the Premier League Stars who earn more than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.
The forward will reportedly earn a reported £12.8 million per season at Real Madrid, which is considerably lower than the £21.4 million annual salary he used to get in Paris.
Despite the pay cut, the Frenchman remains one of Los Blancos' top earners, above David Alaba (€12.5million), Vinicius Junior (€12million), Luka Modric (€11.5million), and Jude Bellingham (€11million).
