Amid reports that the former Chelsea man could join Galatasaray in the summer, Fenerbahce fans have not received the news well, and Batshuayi’s wife, Amely Maria, recently revealed that the family has received threats.

Taking to her Instagram, she said:

“When you don’t know what’s going on in the shadows, don’t point fingers at the innocent.”
“The real culprits are those who don’t take responsibility.”
She accompanied her subsequent posts with screenshots of the abuse she has received, adding “Shame on those who threaten my family and wish death on my child for football, and you dare to talk to me about family? What a shame!”

Images shared by Batshuayi’s wife paint an unfortunate picture, as the family received threats and racial abuse from some unscrupulous online users.

Batshuayi’s Fenerbahce stint

After officially leaving Chelsea in 2022 after a number of loan spells, Batshuayi joined Fenerbahce and spent two years at the club.

He joined the Yellow Canaries after a one-year loan spell with Besiktas.

According to Transfermarkt, the striker made 75 appearances for Fenerbahce, scoring 45 goals.

He was part of the team which suffered disappointment last season, missing out on the Turkish Super Lig by three points.

Sunsport reports that Batshuayi is set to sign a three-year deal at Galatasaray worth £50,000 a week.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce salary

Sports Brief also reported on the hefty salary Jose Mourinho is set to receive as the new Fenerbahce manager.

The ‘Special One’ will be back at the dugout next season after agreeing to take over at the Turkish club on a two-year deal.

Fenerbahce Club president, Ali Koc, disclosed at a media briefing that their new manager will take home €12 million annually.
