Michy Batshuayi’s family has been subjected to death threats and abuse following reports the striker is on the verge of joining Turkish side Galatasaray.
The 30-year-old striker currently plays for Galatasaray’s bitter rivals, Fenerbahce, but his contract is set to run out in June.
Amid reports that the former Chelsea man could join Galatasaray in the summer, Fenerbahce fans have not received the news well, and Batshuayi’s wife, Amely Maria, recently revealed that the family has received threats.

“When you don’t know what’s going on in the shadows, don’t point fingers at the innocent.”
“The real culprits are those who don’t take responsibility.”
She accompanied her subsequent posts with screenshots of the abuse she has received, adding “Shame on those who threaten my family and wish death on my child for football, and you dare to talk to me about family? What a shame!”
Images shared by Batshuayi’s wife paint an unfortunate picture, as the family received threats and racial abuse from some unscrupulous online users.
After officially leaving Chelsea in 2022 after a number of loan spells, Batshuayi joined Fenerbahce and spent two years at the club.
He joined the Yellow Canaries after a one-year loan spell with Besiktas.
According to Transfermarkt, the striker made 75 appearances for Fenerbahce, scoring 45 goals.

Sunsport reports that Batshuayi is set to sign a three-year deal at Galatasaray worth £50,000 a week.
Sports Brief also reported on the hefty salary Jose Mourinho is set to receive as the new Fenerbahce manager.
The ‘Special One’ will be back at the dugout next season after agreeing to take over at the Turkish club on a two-year deal.
Fenerbahce Club president, Ali Koc, disclosed at a media briefing that their new manager will take home €12 million annually.
