The King of Spain, Felipe Juan Pablo, was spotted looking confused while asking Lamine Yamal if he was indeed 16 years old after his fantastic performance against Italy.

The Barcelona star was among the best players in Spain's 1-0 win over Italy in their second group game at the ongoing 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany.

The Spanish youngster caused a lot of problems for the defending champions from the right wing, with Inter Milan left fullback Federico Dimarco unable to match the wonder kid's pace and dribbling skills.

In a viral video on social media, Spain's King was spotted making his way to the team's dressing room to greet the players after their win over the Azzurri.

While sharing pleasantries with the players, Felipe VI looked surprised and asked if Yamal was truly 16 years old.

According to a report by Soccerway, La Roja's next game at the Euros will be against Albania at the Dusseldorf Arena on Monday, June 24.

Yamal could be rested in Spain's final group game against Albania. They've joined Germany as the only two teams to have booked a place in the competition's Round of 16.

Yamal channels inner Messi against Italy

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Yamal channelled his inner Lionel Messi by mesmerising Italy's defenders with his dazzling dribbles.

Although he hasn't scored yet in the competition, the Barcelona youngster has been a delight for Spanish fans and a torment for his opponents.

In one memorable moment in the match, the La Masia graduate received a pass from midfield and fearlessly drove through Italy's defence despite the sea of legs poised to tackle him.
