Williams' cross was deflected into an own goal by Riccardo Calafiori in the second half as Spain continued their high-flying start to the competition.

The Barcelona target was officially named Man of the Match following his outstanding performance.

His elder brother took to social media to post: "Pure cinema Junior. Starboy."

Spain will next face Albania as they wrap up with Group B before the knockout stages begin later next week.

Meanwhile, Inaki is recovering after undergoing surgery to remove a glass from his left foot last month. The injury kept him out of Ghana's World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic early this month.

Williams started his international career with Spain, making one senior appearance before switching nationality in 2022.

He married his longtime girlfriend Patricia Morales at a lovely ceremony in Bilbao on June 3, as reported by 3 News.

Sports Brief also reported that Nico Williams shared a message from his brother Inaki Williams after his performance against Italy at the European Championship.

The 21-year-old was involved in the majority of La Roja’s attacks as they kept their quest for Euro success alive, sealing qualification for the next round.

The Athletic Club forward proved his mettle, as he constantly terrorised Napoli defender, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, on the left side, and only a few would have been surprised when he was awarded the Player of the Match (POTM) award.
