Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams has opened up on the player he would love to share the same dressing with.

"I have quite clear where I want to play next season. Athletic is my home. I am very happy [...] I have told my manager that I don't want to know anything until the Euro Cup is over," he told El Partidazo de Cope.

Despite interest from Barcelona, the younger of the Williams brothers seems to be a big fan of France and new Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappe.

The Bilbao winger disclosed he would love to be on the same team as the former Paris Saint Germain star but only at the international level.

“No no no, for the national team, if he was Spanish. You said it could be for the national team!” he responded when asked about who he prefers to be his teammate.

The Spanish-Ghanaian winger is expected to play a huge role in the La Roja team at the Euros.

Spain have been drawn in Group B alongside holders Italy, Croatia and Albania, per UEFA.

Nine Ghana players set for Euro 2024

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nicolas Williams and eight other players of Ghanaian origin will feature at the 2024 European championship in Germany.

Most of the countries at this year's competition have a couple of players with dual nationalities or having their origins elsewhere.

The French team has for years been dominated by players with their origins from Africa and that seems to be the new norm as the European nations tie down players born in their countries.
