Cristiano Ronaldo wasted no time in reacting to Portugal's comeback victory over Czechia at the European Championship currently ongoing in Germany.

The Al-Nassr forward helped the 2016 champions claw back from a goal down to beat a stubborn Czechia side late in their Group F opener.

Lukas Provod opened the scoring for Czechia on the hour mark, but the Selacao's responded seven minutes later through an own goal from Robin Hranac.

Francisco Conceição scored the winner two minutes after coming on to replace Paris Saint Germain midfielder Vitinha.

Ronaldo praised his teammates' resilience as they fought till the end to secure all three points in Group F.

"Until the end, Portugal," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter moments after the game at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

The 39-year-old, who could be making his last European Championship appearance for Portugal is hoping to win his second title with Portugal.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star led Portugal to their first-ever European Championship triumph in 2016, starring in the tournament in France.

The 2022 World Cup quarter-finalists will next face Turkey with hopes of securing an early Round of 16 qualification, as reported by LiveScore.

Conceicao scores late as Portugal beat Czechia

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Youngster Francisco Conceicao snatched Portugal a last-gasp 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in their Euro 2024 Group F opener on Tuesday just minutes after coming off the bench.

The 21-year-old Porto winger capitalised from close range after the Czechs were unable to clear a cross, completing his team's comeback.

The Czechs went ahead against the run of play through Lukas Provod's fine strike from the edge of the box after the hour mark.
