It's been quite a few chaotic days in Nigerian football.

The African Footballer of the Year shocked many fans when he went on Instagram Live to criticize Finidi, who has reportedly resigned as Super Eagles coach.

The Napoli superstar blasted Finidi, who allegedly questioned his commitment to the national team and insisted that he won't beg players to play for his team.

“Everybody knows I play my heart out whether it is in clubside or national team. I won’t allow anybody to disrespect me...I’ve lost respect for that man now,” he said via Channels TV.

The 25-year-old missed Nigeria's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin. Finidi's side failed to win any of those matches, eliciting intense criticism.

Anichebe calls out Victor Osimhen

The former Everton striker lambasted the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for how they run the sport in the country, calling them "clueless".

The whole federation is a complete and utter mess. Completely clueless, lacking foresight, no clue about football. What was their hiring process? Does anyone even know? Nepotism at its finest. How can results be achieved with a leaderless bunch at the helm? he said per Brila FM.
"The whole organization needs to be disbanded and started again."

The former Premier League star said he understood Osimhen's reaction, but it was not the right thing to do.

"This is something we really lack in Nigeria. We just love negativity and drama. VO (Victor Osimhen) was wrong to come out publicly. I'm sure he understands this now, but in the heat of the moment, it's difficult."
"This could have been done in private. Even though I fully understand he doesn't want anyone to tarnish his image and commitment that he has worked tirelessly to maintain."

Ex-Nigeria goalkeeper blasts Victor Osimhen

Sports Brief previously reported on former Nigeria goalkeeper, Peterside Idaho, slamming Osimhen.

Idaho advised the Napoli striker to apologize for his rant against Finidi and called on the NFF to ban the star striker.
