La Liga president, Javier Tebas, recently commented on the comparative difficulty of winning the UEFA European Championship versus the FIFA World Cup.

With the UEFA Champions League bringing an end to an exciting 2023–24 season, football fans won't have to wait long for their next major soccer event.

Attention is now turning to a thrilling summer of international football, headlined by Euro 2024.

The 17th edition of the tournament will kick off on Friday, June 14, with hosts, Germany, playing against Scotland in the opening game of the much-talked-about competition.

The tournament will feature 24 teams, with Italy aiming to defend its title won in the last edition.

Meanwhile, favourites England, France, Portugal, and Spain are all contenders hoping to dethrone the Azzurri, per the Opta Analyst.

Euros vs World Cup: La Liga boss speaks

As the competition approaches, discussions have emerged about the closely matched nature of the participating teams, sparking debates on the difficulty of winning the European Championship compared to the World Cup.

Tebas, head of Spanish football's top tier, believes that clinching the Euros is more challenging than claiming victory in the World Cup, despite the latter being widely regarded as the ultimate sporting event.

"The Euros are more difficult than the World Cup," Tebas stated, according to Centre Goals.

Mbappe claims Euros is tougher than Word Cup

As reported by Sports Brief, the new Real Madrid signing has also asserted the European Championship is a more difficult tournament than the World Cup.

Offering his perspective, Kylian Mbappe contends the Euros are more complex than the Mundial due to the tactical familiarity among the competing teams.

The former AS Monaco prodigy explained that many players frequently compete against each other at the club level, leading to a higher level of competition.
