Messi quit Europe last year, and left Paris Saint-Germain to sign for the Major League Soccer side, which is partly owned by David Beckham.

Since then, he has been joined by his former teammates in Barcelona, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez. Mundo Albiceleste also recently reported that Angel Di Maria had agreed on financial terms with the Herons and could move to Florida in the summer. The move could see Di Maria and Messi finally play together at club level.

Messi also recently spoke on whether Neymar could join them in Miami to rekindle the famous MSN attacking trident. While admitting it was a possibility, the World Cup winner was also alive to the fact that it might be difficult to pull it off.

Why Marcos Rojo refused to join Inter Miami

However, one person turned down Messi's advances to move to the MLS. Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has opened up on how Messi tried to convince him to join Inter Miami.

"Leo called me; it’s not like it was just anyone or an intermediary, no one. I spoke with Leo Messi, who told me about the possibility of going to Inter. Imagine what that means for any footballer," said Rojo to Radio La Red via the Mirror.

But despite the proposition from Messi himself, Rojo turned down the opportunity and chose to remain at Boca Juniors. The 34-year-old explained that he had just renewed his contract with his home club and was wholly committed to them.

Messi talks about Argentina's WhatsApp group name

Sports Brief also reported that Messi opened up on Argentina's WhatsApp group name.

The squad unity has grown tenfold since they won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Messi disclosed that AS Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes was the admin of the social media group.
