Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung has been advised to consider appointing Sergio Almenara as the club's new head coach.

The Spaniard has left his role as Orlando Pirates' assistant coach after helping the team win four trophies in two seasons.

He joined the Sea Robbers alongside Jose Riveiro ahead of the 2022/23 and was a crucial member of the Spaniard’s technical team.

During his two seasons with the club, Orlando Pirates won two back-to-back MTN8 and Nedbank Cup titles, iDiski Times reports.

With Amakhosi searching for a manager to replace interim boss Cavin Johnson, a fan has urged chairman Kaizer Motaung to consider 44-year-old Almenara.

"To Amakhosi chairman Kaizer Motaung here's the coach who won four trophies in two years with Orlando Pirates.
"Sergio Almenara has left Pirates and good thing is, he will not need time to understand Premiership and local players."

Meanwhile, Nasreddine Nabi is said to be closing in on being appointed after reports claim Chiefs are in final talks with the tactician.

Benni McCarthy and Pitso Mosimane are also linked with the plum job as the Soweto Giants are set for a revamp.

Also, no fewer than eight players are billed to leave the Naturena this summer, while new ones are expected to be signed.

Kaizer Chiefs ended the 2023/2024 season without silverware, as they also finished 10th in the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs told to sign two Sundowns players

Sports Brief earlier reported that a revamp is expected at the Naturena this summer as Kaizer Chiefs have been told to sign two Mamelodi Sundowns players during the summer transfer window.

Chiefs would experience a mass exodus in the coming weeks after the club finished 10th in the DStv Premiership in the just concluded season.

It is believed that several players are billed for exit, while new ones will be signed in a bid to bolster the squad in the coming campaign.
