The match between the South Eastern region clubs could determine who lifts the Nigerian league trophy this season.

The Enugu-based club occupy the first position on the NPFL table with 61 points, while the defending champions, Enyimba, are second with 59 points. A win for the Flying Antelopes will put them in the driving set on the top spot.

Enyimba and Rangers troll each other

With the game barely two days away, both clubs took to their official handles on X (formerly Twitter) to aim a subtle dig at each other.

Enyimba were the first to throw shade at Rangers, as the game's graphic representation shows an elephant (their nickname) standing tall with an antelope (representing their opponents) on the ground.

Rangers responded to Enyimba's trolling in the early hours of Friday morning. The Enugu-based club showed how an antelope trampling on an elephant in an Enyimba jersey.

Rangers will host the Peoples Elephant at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday, June 9, and will air on StarTimes.
