The moment Kaizer Chiefs fans have been waiting for could finally be here.

The Soweto-based club have been searching for a permanent replacement for Molefi Ntseki, and have been linked with numerous high-profile names.

Kaizer Motaung Snr has reportedly been key to negotiations as Kaizer Chiefs aim to appoint a new manager.

Among those names were Pitso Mosimane and Nasreddine Nabi, two managers who are no strangers to winning titles.

As noted by The South African, Chiefs have now agreed on a deal in principle with Nabi.

“The parties (Nabi and Chiefs) have agreed to a deal in principle,” the publication noted, citing a report by Soccer Laduma.

Motaung Sr takes the lead during negotiations

It’s also been reported that Kaizer Motaung Sr is at the forefront of the negotiations. The club founder has taken it upon himself to see that a deal is reached.

“Chiefs are so serious about landing their target, that Kaizer Motaung Sir himself is leading negotiations from the club’s side

When could Nabi be announced?

If the reports are accurate, and Nabi has agreed in principle, it could still be a while before he is unveiled as the club’s new manager.

The Tunisian still has some crunch games to oversee in Morocco as FAR Rabat chase two more trophies.

The side are still in the running for the league title and the Moroccan Throne Cup.

Chiefs are expected to announce his signing after the season officially ends in Morocco.

Profiling Chiefs' potential new manager, Nabi

Sports Brief recently took a look at who Tunisia's Nabi is, the man tipped to be Chiefs new manager.

The 58-year-old is the favourite to take over the hot seat at the Amakhosi once he leaves FAR Rabat.

A former manager of Young Africans in Tanzania, he is no stranger to winning trophies at club level.
