So, who is Nasreddine Nabi, the man expected to be named as the manager of the Amakhosi? Sports Brief takes a look.

Who is Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs potential new coach?

Nabi is a 58-year-old manager who is also a former player.

Currently the coach of FAR Rabat in Morocco, he also coached sides like Young Africans in Tanzania and Al-Merrikh SC in Sudan, per Transfermarkt.

Nabi holds a UEFA Pro License, which means he can coach in Africa and abroad. He holds both Tunisian and Belgian passports.

Nabi’s numerous achievements

The Tunisian has become quite the serial winner, something that will excite Chiefs supporters. GOAL reported that he won six trophies in two years at Young Africans.

Nabi helped guide Yanga to the Community Shield twice, the Tanzanian FA Cup twice, and the Tanzania Mainland League twice.

In his first season with the club, they also finished the league season unbeaten. Of their 30 matches, they won 22 and drew eight.

Nabi also led the side to the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup final, but they were beaten by USM Alger in the final.

The 58-year-old won the Confederations Cup in 2012 with AC Leopards from the Republic of the Congo.

Nabi’s impressive stint with FAR Rabat

The Tunisian has a chance to add more silverware to his collection once the season officially ends in Morocco. FAR Rabat are one point behind Raja Casablanca in the race for the Botola Pro 1 league title, with one game to go.

Nabi’s side will take on FUS Rabat in a capital derby, while Casablanca will take on MCO Oujda.

He could also win the Moroccan Throne Cup with the team, as they are set to compete in the tournament's semi-final. Rabat will face Maghreb AS de Fès in the second semi-final, looking to book their place in the final on July 6 against either Casablanca or MCO Oujda.

How Chiefs could play under Nabi

Sports Brief previously reported on how Chiefs’ style of play would look with Nabi in charge.

A proven trophy winner, no matter where he goes, he also favours an attacking style of play.

FAR Rabat have scored 63 goals in their 29 league games, 14 more than the next-best side.
