Kylian Mbappe finally completed his move to Real Madrid this week after years of speculation.

The Frenchman ended a seven-season stay at Paris Saint-Germain to join the newly crowned UEFA Champions League champions.

Achraf Hakimi, his PSG teammate and friend, has sent the World Cup winner a message as he embarks on a new adventure.

Real Madrid announced the signing of Mbappe weeks after the 25-year-old released a video confirming that the 2024/24 season will be his last at PSG.

He was close to leaving the club in the last few summers, but a deal never materialised. Many fans expected the French star to join Real Madrid nonetheless.

Hakimi has played with Mbappe for three seasons and built a solid relationship on and off the field. The Moroccan right-back paid tribute to his friend after after Real Madrid's announcement.

"Thank you for everything! Going to miss you my brother! I love you," he was translated saying on Instagram.

The two players will face each other in future as they did in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Mbappe has scored 288 goals in 373 matches in his club career and won six Golden Boots in Ligue 1. He is also PSG's all-time top scorer. The former Monaco star is also close to becoming France's record goal-scorer.

Mbappe's message to Hakimi

Sports Brief also previously reported on Mbappe sending a message of support to Hakimi after France eliminated Morocco from the 2022 World Cup.

Les Bleus stopped the Atlas Lions from reaching the final, with the North Africans becoming the first African country to reach the semis at the tournament.

Mbappe and Hakimi watch Brooklyn Nets

Sports Brief also reported on Mbappe and Hakimi watching the NBA clash between the Brooklyn Nets and the San Antonio Spurs in April 2023.

The two footballers and now former teammates were seated courtside to watch the Nets beat the Spurs to record their 12th straight victory.
