Legendary French striker, Thierry Henry, has described Real Madrid's imminent purchases of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe as 'luxury'.

The Spanish giants crowned what has been a stellar 2023/24 campaign with a 15th UEFA Champions League title on Saturday, June 1, beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

A goal each from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior in the second half sealed a 2-0 win over BVB, ensuring Carlo Ancelotti's men completed the double in style, per Sky Sports.

Prior to their historic UCL success, Los Blancos had dominated La Liga, losing just once in 38 league matches.

Carlo Ancelotti's men finished the season with an impressive 95 points, a full 10 points ahead of their closest rivals, FC Barcelona, who secured second place.

Kylian Mbappe, Endrick set to join Real Madrid

Ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2024-25 campaign, the reigning Spanish and European champions are bent on bolstering an already formidable squad with some key additions.

Notable among the players set to move to the Spanish capital are Brazilian wonderkid, Endrick Felipe, and 2018 World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe.

Just as they did with the signing of Vinicius and Rodrygo, the White Angels stole a march on their competitors to secure the services of Endrick, who will join Madrid after this summer's Copa America.

Meanwhile, Mbappe, the standout name on the club's transfer wishlist, is joining from Paris Saint-Germain after a seven-trophy spell in the French capital.

Henry speaks on Mbappe, Endrick move to Madrid

But sharing his perspective on the prospective purchases, Henry reckons that the aforementioned duo are 'luxury' buys and, thus, the club does not need them.

"Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League without Mbappe or Endrick. They don't need them, it's a luxury," the former Barcelona icon said, as cited by MadridZone. "That's what Real Madrid is," he ended.

When will Mbappe's Real Madrid be announced?

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mbappe's highly anticipated move to La Liga champions, Real Madrid, is expected to be officially confirmed early this week.

According to reports from Spain, Mbappe will be introduced as a Madrid player on June 3, and a grand unveiling ceremony is also planned.
