Jose Mourinho showed his class by offering Edin Terzic words of wisdom after Borussia Dortmund’s defeat in the Champions League final.

The Portuguese tactician was on match-day coverage at Wembley on Saturday, June 1, and watched his former team secure a 2-0 win to win a record-extending 15th Champions League title.

Second-half goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior condemned Dortmund to their second heartbreak in the penultimate game of European club football, 11 years after losing to Bayern Munich at the same stage.

Mourinho consoles Terzic

After the game, Mourinho watched on as Real Madrid players received their winners’ medals while Dortmund received the dreaded runners-up accolades.

The former Chelsea boss then exhibited his class by walking off-set and heading straight to the distraught Dortmund manager, Edin Terzic.

In a video by TNT Sports, the two share a quick embrace, and Mourinho appears to utter some words in Terzic’s ears.

According to GOAL, Mourinho later revealed what he had told the Dortmund boss.

He said, "[Terzic] was saying that 'It was very, very hard' and I was telling him, 'Time is not going to help you, it is going to be hard for the rest of your career, the rest of your life."
"But, you have to be very proud of the work you did because you did amazing. As a coach you could not do more, the coach cannot score or put the ball in the net. The coach can organise, the coach can give mentality, the coach can give confidence and you did all that."

Mourinho, meanwhile, is set to return to football management. Reports claim he has agreed to a two-year deal to become the new Fenerbahçe boss.

The Special One has been out of work since Roma sacked him in January 2024.

Real Madrid 'planning for 16th Champions League'

In other news, Sports Brief reported on Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde’s daring comments after his side’s Champions League victory.

The Spaniard has been ever present for Carlo Ancelotti's men, playing a staggering 54 games across all competitions, including 13 matches in Europe’s elite competition.

He played full throttle in the final against Dortmund as Dani Carvajal's header and Vinicius Junior's late strike sealed another European title for the Spanish champions, dubbed APorla 15.
