Jose Mourinho was holding no prisoners during his punditry duty at the UEFA Champions League final last night, and as he was dishing out praises, he was shooting digs.

Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr to win their record-extending 15th Champions League trophy.

The Spanish giants went unbeaten throughout the competition, winning their record-extending 36th La Liga title and beating Barcelona to win the Spanish Supercopa.

Mourinho praises Carlo Ancelotti

Mourinho was full of praise for Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who has now won the most UCL titles of any manager. The Italian has won five: two with AC Milan and three with Madrid.

“He’s not a social media coach, he’s a proper coach. He comes from the meritocracy. Go to his office and see how many medals,” he told TNT Sports via Eurosport.

Mourinho aims dig at Wenger and ten Hag

The former Chelsea boss did not spare aiming a swipe at two managers during last night's iconic microphone moments: Arsene Wenger and Erik ten Hag.

Jose was informed of Wenger’s presence at the stadium while doing pitchside punditry, and he asked to see his former rival to explain his proposed offside rule.

Per Transfermarkt, the two clashed 19 times as managers. The former Arsenal boss won twice, lost 10 times and drew seven games.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who was on loan at Dortmund, featured in the final last night after leaving the club in January due to a spat with ten Hag.

“As a player we know his talent. For sure the kid made mistakes. But for sure also his manager was not able to get the best out of him,” Mourinho said about the situation.

Sancho could leave United permanently this summer as the club seeks a solution, while the Dutch manager’s future is uncertain despite winning the FA Cup.

Mourinho is back in management with Fenerbahce, who announced him as their new head coach during the UCL's halftime show. His last job was with AS Roma, where he was sacked in January.

Ancelotti hails Mourinho as the greatest

Sports Brief previously reported on Carlo Ancelotti hailing Mourinho as the greatest and defending their famous way of play—defensive tactics—despite claims it is outdated.

The two managers have also managed Chelsea and one of the Milan clubs each. They have massive respect for each other and their successful careers.
